If You Want Peace

Best lessons are taught at home

But when the family fails,

We run to church

But pastor needs to be taught

So, we run to friends

They tell us their stories and

Ignorantly, we apply in our case

And things get worse

Oh how we forget: no two relationships

Are the same

If you want peace,

Be blind to her earnings even if

You built that business

Do not count money,

The money you give to her

Give her, give her again

And again you should give

When you become insolvent

Sing praises of her and weary not

Extol every sacrifice she makes

And with a pledge to compensate her

When your cargo of money berths

Be committed to your promise

Even with an interest

Make sure you make her smile

Tell her she is more beautiful

Even than the host of angels

No matter how she looks and

What she thinks of herself

Make her know she is beautiful

If she has misgivings, tell her:

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

And that beholder is you
