The Governing Council of the University of Port Harcourt has approved the appointment of a substantive Director, Audit Unit and Chief Security Officer for the University.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Owunari Georgewill, in a letter dated 28th October, 2021, conveyed Council approval of the appointment of Dr Boniface Woko as the substantive Director, Internal Audit Unit of the University.

The Vice Chancellor states that “the Appointment is for a tenure of five (5) years in the first instance, renewable for a second tenure of five years, subject to satisfactory performance.”

In a related development, the Vice-Chancellor has also conveyed Council approval of the appointment of former Commissioner of Police, CP Alali A. Pedro (rtd) as the new Chief Security Officer of the University.
The offer of appointment is sequel to CP Pedro’s interview on Monday, 25th October 2021.

The letter of appointment revealed that the Contract Appointment is for one (1) year and renewable yearly.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor has congratulated Dr Boniface Woko and CP Alali Pedro and wished them well in their new assignments.
